My comfortable , purpose built outdoor therapy room is in the village of Worsley (M28) just off junction 13 of the M60, close to the A580 and close to good transport routes via bus and train to Salford and Manchester city centre. I will send detailed directions when your first appointment is arranged. There is plenty of safe on street parking available directly outside.
We will esplore this during our first session when we will discuss how we might work together along with agreements, fees and boundaries. You will also have the opportunity to talk about the circumstances bringing you to counselling and your expectations. There is no commitment at this stage.
The idea of therapy can be daunting and you may struggle to understand why you would need it but therapy can assist you to make sense of jumbled thoughts, stop you feeling so “stuck”, develop strategies to facilitate change.
After you first initial contact whether that be by phone or e-mail we will then arrange a date for our first session and I will send you some contracts to read through and sign.
Some clients feel the benefits after the first session as they have taken those first steps in asking for support and by just being offered a safe space to talk. It can often feel worse initially though until you start working through your process.
I follow the guidance and ethical frameworks of the BACP and any information discussed in session will remain confidential unless you pose a risk of danger to yourself or others. We will talk about confidentiality in more detail during the first session.
Each client’s experience is unique. However therapy will look at the ways you process difficult life events and how you perceive yourself. It will help you try to understand the issues affecting your life as well as trying to find solutions.
The person-centred approach facilitates personal growth and a better understanding of yourself without judgement or criticism.

Therapy is no longer deemed a luxury you can’t afford and more people are choosing to invest in their mental wellbeing. Left untreated, unresolved emotional issues will ofter persist and develop into more serious problems. Self care is really important and something we often neglect.
Therapy typically starts weekly and lasts from 6 sessions up to a year, longer is some cases, it really depends on the issues you bring as each client’s needs are unique, there are no time limitiations. We will usually review after every 6 sessions.
